THC offers right of way and land acquisition services for state highway departments, city governments and county townships. From Conceptual Stage studies to Relocation Assistance, we can provide the necessary services to obtain the right-of-way parcels you need for project completion.  We are particularly adept in providing professional services for land acquisition/relocation programs under eminent domain and for voluntary land acquisition programs. Acquired properties have included right-of-way parcels and partial takings, easements, businesses, single and multi-family dwellings, apartments, condominiums, mobile homes, churches, agricultural and vacant parcels. With over 5,000 parcels acquired, our personnel are thoroughly knowledgeable in all applicable guidelines and regulations such as the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policy Act of 1970 – Public Law 91-646 (Uniform Relocation Act), HUD Handbook 1378 and 49 CFR Part 24 Regulations.

Most importantly, we understand the sensitive nature of right-of-way land acquisition, and the value in treating property owners with integrity and sincerity throughout the program. Our agents are trained to present the right of way acquisition process in a simplified manner to ensure the property owner thoroughly understands why their property is being purchased and what benefits they will gain from the sale.

THC is currently providing right-of-way acquisition and relocation services for cities and state departments of transportation. Recent projects have been completed in the cities of Jesup, Gainesville and Chamblee, GA, Monroe and Charlotte, NC, Mecklenburg County, NC and Dallas, TX. Projects have ranged from a few parcels to large-scale acquisitions of more than 500 parcels. THC is currently certified by the Georgia DOT, Florida DOT, Alabama DOT, Kentucky DOT and Texas DOT.
