Part 150 Study Noise Mitigation Planning Services

Successful noise mitigation programs begin with the development of an accurate and thorough FAR Part 150 Study conducted by an airport sponsor and its Part 150 consultant.

To develop effective land use solutions for the Part 150 Study, accurate data must be gathered and analyzed by personnel who have a complete understanding of how the different available solutions can be fully utilized to provide noise relief for impacted property owners.

Most program sponsors are not aware of the gap that exists between the FAA approval of their FAR Part 150 noise mitigation program and the first day of working with property owners. The FAR Part 150 describes the land use measures that should be used, but does not provide the procedures necessary for their implementation. This gap may be bridged by the development of procedures within federal guidelines as they apply to their specific noise mitigation program.

THC can assist airports and planning firms in “bridging the gap” by designing the daily implementation procedures for federally approved noise mitigation programs.

We have analyzed and designed numerous noise mitigation program measures for both commercial and general aviation airports. Our daily implementation of programs has provided us with the expertise to develop specific guidelines necessary to make your FAR Part 150 program a well-planned success.
