Land Acquisition/Relocation

Under a noise mitigation program, voluntary land acquisition is the best method for eliminating noise complaints from property owners residing within the noise contours. This method provides a program sponsor with absolute control over the land because it relocates the affected party and gives control of the land to the sponsor. Most frequently used on properties within the 75 DNL or greater noise contour, this measure can also be implemented on properties between 65 DNL and 75 DNL. 

THC can provide turn key services or single services based on the need of an airport sponsor. THC personnel have an excellent working knowledge of federal and state regulations that guide these purchases with experience in more than 15 programs involving the acquisition of homes, apartments, businesses, easements, wetlands and agricultural parcels. Typically, THC will provide the property owner liaison, development of the relocation plan, facilitation of public meetings, property management and overall management of a team of local subconsultants that perform appraisals, review appraisals, title searches, environmental assessments, and demolition tasks.
